February 23, 2012 12:25 pm @JDC: The content is mostly superhero comic stuff, covered in articles written mainly by men, for men. Very little manga or indie coverage. I know women like comics, but this generation of superhero comics has lost them, and ifanboy caters to the superhero crowd. It caters to them well, but nonetheless. Do we want to address this, or do we just want to pout?
February 23, 2012 12:16 pm "Lots"? How much is "lots"? The content doesn't really seem to have women in mind.
February 23, 2012 12:08 pm It's ironic that this article is posted on a site called ifanBOY.com. That can't seem very inviting to women. Physicians, heal thyselves.
February 7, 2012 1:44 pm I don't think Moore deserves the flack. He's not standing in front of DC's offices handing out flyers against them. The reason he keeps saying the same thing over and over is because interviewers keep asking him the same question. And "Before Watchmen" has proven him right: DC really are just content to pick over the bones of his old ideas instead of coming up with new ones.
January 27, 2012 2:36 pm I've had the privilege of seeing many of these pages and they do not disappoint. His Legion issue is terrific, too. GO TEAM WALTER!
December 29, 2011 3:57 am So if Action Comics renumbered at #1 again this September, would it count again as a new book, even though it's been published continuously since 1939? I agree with the first poster above: that seems weird, and it's a pretty damning indictment of the unwillingness of readers of corporate comics to take chances on new things.
July 25, 2011 7:21 pm Bring back Adam West!
June 7, 2011 10:26 pm Ron's right.

What's discouraging about these creators is that it demonstrates that DC doesn't realize that it's not only the way their comics are sold that have dug their grave in the direct market, it's their approach to storytelling.  DC Comics have mainly been about DC Comics for nearly thirty years, and no casual reader unwilling to become a scholar in DC's complicated backstory is going to keep up with them for very long.  Raining down fifty-two #1 issues in a month may attract new readers, but it won't keep them coming back. That's a lot of comics to keep up with, especially if the same character stars in four or more of them.  How is a new reader supposed to know which Batman book to get?  DC have learned nothing from being steamrolled by manga in the last decade.  They're clearly waving the white flag in the direct market, and they don't need to fight for shelf space online, so why flood the market with these number ones?
