Alright, I’ll admit it. I got a little misty eyed when Warren got the “Picard in ‘The Inner Light’” treatment…

Occupy Digital
May 21, 2012 5:51 pm Why does everyone look at me like I'm an idiot when I say I like having the physical copy? I like going to the store and picking stuff out. (Of course, my store doesn't have a problem with me not preordering stuff, so I'm sure that makes a difference.) I just gave my ten year old cousin about 80 issues of Spider-Man to read and he thought it was the coolest thing ever. I can't lend my books to friends if they're all digital.
I don't begrudge anyone for wanting to read their comics digitally, and it's rather stupid for any company to not provide their product to as many people through as many avenues as possible. But why must I consistently be called a "dinosaur" or "Gramps" whenever I say I don't want to go digital?

Heads Up: DC Comics Previews – August 2012
May 15, 2012 9:18 am Scalped is ending? Anyone have any idea when we can expect a deluxe hardcover/omnibus of that series? I've been wanting to read it but refuse to get the trades since I know a nicer hardcover will come out sooner or later...

Great Moments in Comics History: The Avengers #18
May 10, 2012 5:21 pm I'd probably get kind of down, too, if I had to eat next to a lamp made out of Black Manta's helmet.

Marvel’s Digital Disarray
April 24, 2012 1:02 pm I like the idea that Marvel tried something new, but I hated the fact that it was right in the middle of the story. If they want to throw something like that in at the end, great. But right when you're in the middle of the story? Thanks, but no. Can you imagine watching the Avengers movie and having little icons pop up in the corner of the screen: "Click here to see how Mark Ruffalo felt about filming this scene!"? And yes, I know they were small, and I know no one forced me to use the app or whatever, but there were still noticeable enough to take me out of the story.

Heads Up: Marvel Comics Previews – July 2012
April 18, 2012 12:41 am I'm mostly interested because I just feel like if they're putting this massive book out there at that price, without the usual movie tie-in, then it must be pretty good stuff.

Heads Up: Marvel Comics Previews – July 2012
April 17, 2012 8:51 pm Interesting. Thanks, Paul. I may have to see if I can find some of that to read, though, before dropping $125 on that monster of a book.

Heads Up: Marvel Comics Previews – July 2012
April 17, 2012 8:36 pm So... I don't want to do any research. Is that "Man-Thing" title more than just a "Swamp Thing" rip off? Is there a movie about it coming out? Why is there a giant omnibus for a series I've never heard of? It's simultaneously confusing me and making me want to buy it...

Heads Up: Marvel Comics Previews – July 2012
April 17, 2012 8:30 pm Um... I'm not sure why this discussion went off the rails, but back to the original point that TNC asked. Which series were you referring to? From what I understand, "AvX: Vs." is a giant fight comic which is ancillary to "Avengers Vs. X-Men" which has a much more complex plot than just random fighting. It just seems like there was some confusion about that, since AvX Vs. is only 6 issues, whereas Avengers Vs. X-Men is 12.

Book of the Month – X-Men: Season One
April 16, 2012 5:12 pm I don't think this line of books is a bad idea... I just really don't understand the titles. Did they go with "Season One" because "Year One" is too closely associated with DC? Or does DC actually own the rights to that phrase or something?
