April 10, 2012 3:38 pm Although unlike Captain America, the thing that Superman has going against him is that he is so iconic. Everyone has this idea of who he is based on his prominence in the pop culture psyche when in fact they have no real knowledge of the character. This makes it difficult to change him or mold him in new ways. For instance, the idea this "new" Superman is cocky and arrogant when he was that way originally. Unfortunately, I'm not completely sure this is something that he can overcome.

April 10, 2012 1:55 pm I'm glad I'm not the only one who has found the recent issues of Action Comics to be confusing and bland. And I was also disappointed by the quick transition into Superman. I liked the idea of seeing him learn a thing or two. That being said, I do like the current characterization more. I don't necessarily find him to be arrogant or cocky. I like that he seems to have little patience for those who don't respect others, the law, or humanity. He may be a little self-righteous but I don't think he is being cocky.
