He’s got them crazy eyes.

This is just another great issue by Jeff Lemire for this series. It really gets harder and harder to review this title. For Chew it isn’t because Rob Guillory brings so much to the table with the art. While I’m not saying Lemire doesn’t do that with this series, it’s just that he does it in a different more subtle way. The only thing that bugged me about the issue is that there seemed to be slight time jump for little reason. Maybe he couldn’t do a story with Gus being so injured but it didn’t bother me too much. I will say that the best thing about this entire issue, and it’s probably my favorite panel this week, is “Walter’s” eyes at the end of the issue. I won’t give too much away but man…..That’s the look of crazy right there.

I don’t know how much longer we have of this title but it still is one of the most consistent comics out there right now. It’s dark, it’s depressing, but it’s gorgeous to look at and a hell of a lot of fun to read. This title, even with a bizarre time jump, is a great jumping on point if you somehow decided to miss out on the previous twenty-eight great issues.

Story: 4 - Very Good
Art: 5 - Excellent
