If you’ve been missing The Perry Bible Fellowship since ir disappeared from your local free entertainment paprt, then this is a must read for you. Perry Bible Fellowship Hulk AND Perry Bible Fellowship Wolverine. And they’re both hilarious.
James Kochalka writes and draws a Hulk story.
Paul Pope shows the trials and tribulations of The Inhumans’ Lockjaw.
Nick Bertozzi goes where no writer has previously gone with MODOK: the bathtub!
And Jason does Spider-Man as a Jason comic. Which is just, well, amazing.
There were other stories in the book. But, really, on those merits alone, I would have given this book fives for art and stories. Peter Bagge’s Hulk story, M Kipperman’s spin on Namor were both alright. And while I didn’t care too much for Dash Shaw’s Dr. Strange (mostly because I don’t care for Dr. Strange, I suspect), and Junko Mizunio’s Spiderman (which was beautiful and not poorly translated, but I’m not its target audience), my biggest disappointment was the She-Hulk story, which was colored and lettered by a really good friend of mine (Star St. Germain), but is a really dull story. I liked Crabapple’s art style, thoughy.
Overall, definitely worth checking out. I both do and don’t want to know who they’ve got on the two upcoming issues. This was such a nice surprise (Star colored and lettered the She-Hulk story almost three years ago now), that I kind of want the next issue to be as nice a surprise.
Art: 5 - Excellent
Jason is doing a Marvel comic!?
I must have this!!
