I initially picked this book on a whim and the promise of Amanda Conner art. I’m still with it after issue three thanks to the Amanda Conner art. This art is clean, well colored and dynamic. It crosses a classic comic sensibility with a little bit of cheesecake style in a manner that is not entirely dissimilar to Frank Cho. The detailing of specifics within the individual pieces is very nice.

I cannot rave quite so much about the story. It is a fairly typical, old school super hero romp in saving the city from a villain. All in all, not something to be displeased with but neither will it make your book a modern classic. This 3 issue story arc really should have been 1-2 issues since there was no meat in the story at all. Further, I am new to Power Girl. I have a rough idea of who she is, but little else. This book has yet to meaningfully define Power Girl for me. She is a caring, philanthropic hero type who risks herself to save others… so are 95% of the other books out there. Give me some meat, please.

Story: 2 - Average
Art: 5 - Excellent
