Planetoid #3 takes on the challenge of reaching comic book perfection and quite frankly, comes close to reaching that lofty goal. It is clear Ken Garing sold his soul to the Devil, it’s the only logical answer to how he’s developed so quickly. The pacing by far was the best part of this book as Garing magical masters the perfect balance between dialogue and art. The art is fantastic, the colors are great and his combination of simplicity and detail is beyond anything I’ve seen lately. The story was able in one issue to build a world that the reader cares about; a world I am expecting to be completely devastated soon. There were however some weak spots in the dialogue that I expect he will learn how to handle over time. Planetoid is worth picking up and Garing’s future works are worth following. Can’t wait to see what happens in issue 4!
