Cover by Ivan Reis, Joe Prado, Billy Tucci, Jim Lee, & Scott Williams

Size: 0 pages

Pros
-Ivan Reis is the man! That three page sequence of the aircraft carrier? What a way to start off the new year.
-Geoff Johns explains why people are so stupid to not realize Clark Kent=Superman. Very funny explanation and it is total bullshit.
-I’m a huge fan of Captain Marvel and it was great to start reading this back up. This is ‘Part 8’ but you really don’t get lost as to what is happening in this story. Billy has his powers and with his best friend Freddy they try to do stuff (mostly bad) with them. I love Johns called to the fact that it was mighty convenient that these crimes were committed right in front of him.
-Gary Frank is also the man. Loved his work since Superman and the Legion of Superheros arc. This is just more of the same; just beautiful to look at.

Cons
-Nothing much really. Well it did bug me that Johns took forever to reveal who is behind this attack on the surface world. The opening really tells you who is up to it so taking forever to reveal it was kinda lame.

Summary
-Why did I pick this over the second installment in Aquaman? Because of the art of course! Ivan Reis and Gary Frank is a combo that is really hard to defeat. As long this is the art team for this series I will not be dropping it any time soon. Hell, you could have Chuck Austen do the writing here and as long as Reis/Frank are the artists I could care less.

Story: 4 - Very Good
Art: 5 - Excellent
