Honestly, this series just took a sudden & drastic nose dive in the last 2 issues. I have faith Hickman will return to form & is building “something” here, but that doesn’t mean I have to like what this issue brought to the table – which was nothing! The last 2 issues were the first in his Fantastic Four/FF run to be anywhere near below 4 stars….so I doubt this recent slide will continue. The real tragedy was the artwork. Wow! Some of the worst penciling I’ve seen in a comic in some time. A flat-out embarrassment for a title as good as this.

Art: 1 - Poor

  1. I was LOVING this book for the first 5 issues. Then the last two just did a total 180. I may be nit-picky here, but when I buy a comic called “FF,” I expect the FF to actually be in it. The last two issues were pure exposition, which just totally killed my enthusiasm for the book. I have faith that Hickman will turn it around and it will be worth it in the end, so I’m going to stick it out, but I totally agree with you, huge nose dive here. even the art wasn’t a selling point, which could have at least made the information dump pretty to look at.

Thanks for the comments everyone. Good to see that everyone seems to still be one board and willing to ride this hole out.

Something occured to me of late though – - – you know how you go through back issues at your LCS’s around town, and try to put together these amazing runs that you may have missed?……and you’re all like “Man, I can not find issues #x, #y, #z, but I keep finding __, __, __, in every stack. That’s what I feel will become of issue 6 & 7, and possibly even 8. But things will pick up again!!! Via La HickMan
