Once again this has to be the best cover this week. Even if you hate Deadpool you gotta admit you wanna see something like this in an actual comic. I wonder who’s birthday it was suppose to be?

Deadpool is back trying to be a hero. Last issue really showed me that Wilson wants to be one and he is really succeeding at changing his persona. However, this issue does take a bit of a set back on that. I don’t wanna say that Way is ignoring the development from previous issues, but this does feel like the Deadpool of old. To be fair, he didn’t kill anyone in this issue so maybe Deadpool can still act like he usually is but not kill anyone. Anyways, this title also brings back a very old friend of Wilson and it’s about damn time. I was waiting for him to get back into Deadpool’s life. Now all we need is Blind Al and my life is complete. As a mini spoiler there are some mechs involved with this and that was sorta boring. You’ve seen one mech you’ve seen them all. But that’s a small portion of the book and anything not involving that is pretty gold here.

This series has stayed on course for almost two years now. (Celebrating that next month) Deadpool has been constantly fun for so long. This wasn’t the best issue of the series, it was just really good. Sometimes a book staying consistantly good can be a negative. Here? Way just keeps the series interesting even if there is little new to talk about every month.

Comments

  1. I’m just so happy that Barberi is back on art.  If Huat became the regular artist this would’ve been dropped.

  2. Also I don’t think Way dropped the "trying to be a hero" angle. Wade went to Vegas because someone dissed his "hero cred". I think next issue he will try to take down Grizzly on TV showcasing his "heroics".

  3. @JesTr: It seems like that’s where he’s going. Again I didn’t think Way fully dropped it; but it’s hard to convince your a hero when you blow up a good chunk of a casino.

  4. @TNC: Maybe Deadpool has gotten all religious and is washing Sin City. 🙂
