I mean come on, really? You didn’t think Booster saving Blue Beetle from a lead salad was going to go WELL, did you? Nah, me neither, but as I finally “get” these characters and their charm together, I REALLY wanted BG and BB to reunite, and so far it’s great! It’s heartwarming to see two best friends back together and there have been some fantastic moments.

Immediately upon returning to the present, we find that the OMACs run by Maxwell Lord have flooded the earth and many of our beloved heroes aren’t fairing as well as we’d like.
There’s also, true to Geoff John’s nature, a tiny surprise ending, leaving a “well, what are they gonna do NOW??” question mark. (Also, we finally start to see what’s going on with Black Beetle). DC owes much of it’s current success to Geoff and I really hope they sculpted him a golden calf or something. That man is ridiculously talented, and apparently a robot who never needs to rest.

As for the art, it’s a solid look from a comics veteran, and totally appropriate considering it’s a time travel book and we spend most of the time in Jurgen’s hayday.

I hope Beetle stays around for a looong time helping Booster fix the time stream, but unfortunately, I’m sure he’s doomed to return to the maggots pretty quickly.
