CAPTAIN AMERICA IS A JERK!

That about sums it up right?

This is going to be a technical thing.

Did anyone notice the page turn reveals were all in horrible places? Right side of the page, right where you eye lands when you turn. It spoiled ALL the big moment in this series. I don’t know if this is down to Kubert or whoever did the ad placement. Just shoddy production? Either way it seriously diminished the impact of all these moments.

A huge advert for reading things digitally.

Also the Iron Man Captain America story right at the big moment? Come on. Move it up or move it back!

I know this is a low overhead industry and people just want to rush through things and get them done and out and on to the next one, but someone should be thinking about these things. No one’s going to respect you comic books unless you respect yourself and your craft!

  1. I am not collecting this series, so was the page thing something as a result of digital, or are you making reference to the book in print and digital? I am just curious.

  2. The page turns in the actual comic book, if it was digital you only see one page at a time, which I think is actually better as writers and artists can put reveals on every page.

The collected edition will probably not have any ads, but trades often have very litte attention paid to the story and if page turns are in the right places. I remember a huge moment of Preacher being spoiled because the full page shocking image was on the right side, with all the build up and tension on the left essentially made moot.
