  1. Venom on the team is going to make this great book even better

  2. Hmmmm. I bet Ant Man dies.

  3. Why did I not enjoy the last issue? I want to get this one since Venom’s joining and I like Remender, Hardman, and Breitweiser. But, I think I have a grudge against team books. Thunderbolts has been the only one I’ve read lately that seems to hit the right note for me. I’ll make the call when I get to my LCS.

    • I enjoyed last issue, but I think I get what you mean. Honestly, there just wasn’t much there. It was very much a set-up chapter. It may be that, once the ball gets rolling, the book will wow. Here’s hoping.

    • I can get that. You may just not be a team book kinda person. I know I’m generally not. I prefer the single character approach, getting caption boxes of what they’re thinking and the like.

That said, this issue was very good. I didn’t like it as much as the first, for whatever reason, but still a very solid 4, 4.5.

  4. I can’t wait for the Avengers to go to the movies and maybe get a few drinks afterwards so they can find out Who are the Descendants

  5. How is Venom going to work for this book ? The Circle of Four crossover isn’t done yet ?

  6. Looking forward to this….enjoy the roster. Do jot know anything about the villains but I am on for the ride.

  7. Since #22 w Remender and Hardman, I’m back on a title I really liked the concept of at the time of its inception.

  8. Ya miss one week at the shop, get two weeks worth of books at once, and the next thing you know all the Marvel comics you just read have a new issue already. Yeesh.

  9. Being as this is Remender writing this, who wants to bet that there is a Milo Goes To College joke involved with The Descendants?

  10. I guess I need to read all of those issues of SA I piled up for just such an occasion.

  11. Pretty sure George Clooney is going to be in this…

  12. Even if an avenger does die, I’m sure that character will just be back in a few issues anyway.

  13. I want Gabriel Hardman to draw everything for the rest of time. That’s all.

  14. This goes to show there is no sure fire creative team for me. Two issues in and I could take or leave the Secret Avengers. I might still try #3, depends what that week looks like.

  15. That cover is super misleading by the way. However, this book is awesome. Great issue.

  16. Man, fuck Beast. Even when Pym does good, he still gets shat on.

  17. My book of the week.

  18. POTW!

  19. This unrational Gabriel Hardman love? I don’t get it

    • I somewhat agree. I think he is a great artist and storyteller but his style isn’t necessarily suited for a book like this. My favorite thing he’s done at Marvel is still Agents of Atlas. He got to draw a gorilla and an old school killer robot in that. It worked. Hulk was also more interesting. I haven’t read his Planet of Apes story yet but I look forward to that trade way more than Secret Avengers #3.

    • He’s not the worst guy working but come on. It’s just my opinion but I thought some of the panels in there were just ugly to look at.

    • Blasphemy. Hardman is an absolute beast on art. His strengths are storytelling and inventive page layouts and in these areas, no one is better. Hardman is definitely not a photo realistic artist so his facial features aren’t always perfect but his strengths greatly exceed any weakness.

  20. Heh, I just realized that on the cover, Beast seems to be checking Venom’s butt for dingleberries, heh heh heh.

  21. I’m not feeling this story and am bored by it. But I’ll keep reading because Hardman’s art is fantastic.

  22. Looks like Scott Lang will sticking around after all.

  23. I know I’m pretty late to the game on this issue, but my shop was sold out and I didn’t get the chance to read it until just now. Easily my POTW. It was nice see an end of Ant-Man’s story arc, which is something we rarely get in comics. I also think that this is the rare character that will probably stay dead. Definitely a great issue.
