Though much is taken, much abides, and though we are not now that panel which in old days moved earth and heaven, that which we are, we are… One equal temper of heroic hearts, made weak by time and fate, but strong in will to strive, to seek, to find, and not to yield.
FF #4
By Matt Fraction, Michael Allred, Laura Allred, & Clayton Cowles
“She-Hulk and the Moloids” coming this fall from ABC.
Aquaman #17
By Geoff Johns, Paul Pelletier, Sean Parsons, Rod Reis, & Dezi Sienty
I didn’t notice until this issue but they’re using some really cool coloring techniques to show that Aquaman’s tunic shimmers in the sunlight. It becomes more gold than orange. It’s a really nice touch.
Uncanny Avengers #4
By Rick Remender, John Cassaday, Laura Martin with Larry Mounts, & Chris Eliopoulos
Ever since his stellar first issue, John Cassaday has been really inconsistent on art, but every once in a while he really brings it on a panel. And he brought it here.
The Flash #17
By Francis Manapul, Brian Buccellato, & Carlos Mangual
This is the kind of thing that really gets you laid. I mean, if you didn’t have a girlfriend. (Awkward, Barry.)
Punisher: War Zone #5
By Greg Rucka, Carmine Di Giandomenico, Matt Hollingsworth, & Joe Caramagna
A fantastically powerful and quiet moment in a series that features a wonderful portrayal of The Punisher.
The Rocketeer: Hollywood Horror #1
By Roger Langridge & J. Bone
Nick and Nora? NICK AND NORA!
Joe Kubert Presents #5
By Paul Levitz & Joe Kubert
In my head, Sgt. Rock will always look like Joe Kubert drew him.
Hawkeye #8
By Matt Fraction, David Aja, Matt Hollingsworth, & Chris Eliopoulos
This panel tickled me for a couple of reasons. One, I like the starkness a while lot. Also, it looks kind of like a scene from Dick Tracy.
Batman, Incorporated #8
By Grant Morrison, Chris Burnham, Nathan Fairbairn, & Taylor Esposito
These little moments of pitch perfect character in the midst of absolute chaos really makes a story sing and it’s something that Grant Morrison excels at.
Uncanny X-Men #2
By Brian Michael Bendis, Chris Bachalo, Tim Townsend or Jaime Mendoza or Al Vey or Victor Olazaba, & Joe Caramagna
Cutaway base graphic? CUTAWAY BASE GRAPHIC!
CUTAWAY BASE GRAPHIC! I can’t wait to find out what is “off limits”!
Great choices, but… who are Nick and Nora?
They’re the characters from the Thin Man series of films.
Un oh… Looks like I’ve got some watching to do!
Who are Nick & Nora? Oh dear. Get thee to a Netflix. I lmao every time I watch a good ol’ Thin Man movie.
Uncultured fools! The book is so much better!
Reading The Thin Man on my iPhone, was the inspiration for Ralph & Sue Dibny’ as well (get it? Thin man-Elongated man…clever huh?).
They also have an infinite playlist.
Oh hey, and Barry finally saved those poor bastards he abandoned in the Speed Force last year! Took his time, indeed!
The Hawkeye panel really makes it seem plausible that all of these different crime bosses could live in the same city. Watch your back, Clint!
Isn’t it ‘Moloids’ not Molites for FF?
Yep. Fixed. Thanks.
They’ve been doing that effect on Aquaman’s scale armor since issue #1 and I agree, it looks great. It adds to his regality.
I think JJ Abrams gets a quarter for each panel with lens flare.
@BionicDave
Fucking hilarious!!!
They are doing great things with Aquaman’s armor. Now if we could mix it up with different pants and gloves, we would truly be golden. 😀
Let’s get that Fraction-written, Aja-drawn, Leland Owlsey limited series.
Every so often in the last few weeks, something happens on the site, on the podcast, or in general comics news that makes me miss Ron. The cutaway base was one of them. I hope he enjoyed it, wherever he is.
Nope, he’s busy promoting SEX.
Who owns Nick and Nora? The world needs new Thin Man stories
I read the cutaway base in my head like the tour of the Belafonte in Life aquatic.
Anything could’ve been an inspiration, but I’m going to believe that the artist was digging the new X-Com.

The cutaway base really made me miss Ron.
Yeah, he needs to call in for this one.
I think that Batman Inc panel was the best this week for me. I’m really looking forward to reading punisher: war zone too
Do you get the feeling Uncanny X-men is being written specifically for a certain young man from Long Island. Do you also get the feeling that the writer thinks that this will stop that certain young man asking a certain question. As James Bond said “Good luck with that” I am loving this book.
I’m glad someone else noticed the shine coming from Aquaman in this issue. I guess I never noticed it before now but I love the effect.
I love that Kingpin would be Clint’s new arch enemy!
Those Batman Inc. panels made the issue all the more heartbreaking.
Nick and Nora fans should check out the Thrilling Adventure Hour’s Beyond Belief segments.

Francis Manapul’s art is to my eyes as bacon is to my mouth
They were the best, no matter what anyone thinks & I miss them. Thank you Grant for our brief time with Dick & Damian as Batman & Robin!
That Panel of Damian and Dick almost made me shed a tear, knowing (with the spoilers and all) that this would be their last team-up
Me too.
That panel had me so choked up knowing what was around the corner for Damian. I always felt Grayson and Damian had the perfect chemistry as Batman and Robin. That panel almost felt to me like a passing of the torch when Dick calls Damian “Robin the boy wonder”. I really wish we could see more stories of the two of them, but thanks allot Grant Morrison @$$#0%&, you’d better stick that kid in a Lazorus pit next issue.
I was a little worried about Allred’s art on FF. It’s never been my favorite kind of style but I decided to give it a chance because I’ll buy anything with She-Hulk in it. Needless to say that I have completely changed my mind. I LOVE Allred on this book! He draws a very sexy yet obviously strong She-Hulk! This issue was my favorite and it made me laugh all the way through.
