TEASER: Who will be on The X-Men?

First we had a teaser for Uncanny X-Men. Then we had a teaser for Wolverine and the X-Men. And then there were no more teasers. We really thought there would be more.

Well, there’s more!

But it’s not a teaser revealing more members of the aforementioned teams, it’s a teaser for the third X-Men team–the one in X-Men!

  1. Didn’t expect to see her, but here’s hoping she reverts back to her non-vampire fun-loving personality. Im not feeling that vampire storyline…

  2. Thunderbird is the only one I can make out.

  3. I think this is more of a lineup announcement for characters Grischler will be using in his next arc, rather than an official team.

Remember the teasers that cam out when X-Men re-started about two years ago? It also included Jubilee, Spider-man, Blade, Gambit, Hope, She-Hulk , X-Man, Electra…….

  4. @mikegraham6 – Given it’s still Victor Gischler writing (much as though I wish it wasn’t) I’d say the likelihood of Jubilee reverting from being a vampire is slime, unfortunately… 🙁

  5. Or *slim even. Bloody iPhone.

  6. Man, I hope we’re moving back to a place where there are actual teams rather than 198 characters to shuffle randomly every arc. A set number of characters on a team leads to relationships building, group dynamics establishing and an overall sense of family. The way things are now… not so much.

That said, Jubes has determined which X-title I’ll be picking up… well, this and the Aaron one.

  7. It’s interesting that Jubilee would not be on the same team as Wolverine. I didn’t read all of the mini with Logan helping her to come to terms with her vampirism, was a rift created between them?

    • I don’t know what happened in the last two issues it was pretty confusing. I think they are all cool though. Jubliee Wolverine Gambit and X-23 have been in the last arc of X-23 also and they all seem to get along pretty well.

  8. nice, but i wouldn’t be surprise if they try to cram wolverine in there somewhere. im really curious who the members are going to be

  9. See, I’m not a fan of this. I was just getting excited about getting back into the X-Men post-Schism because I thought there could be 2 titles and 2 teams only, helping to condense the over-flooded X-Universe. X-Force is great and X-Factor is doing it’s own thing and those make sense to continue, but now it looks like we’re talking about an Uncanny Team, a Wolverine Team, a Legacy Team and an Adjectiveless Team. Throw in New Mutants, return of Cable (why is that happening?), solo Wolverine title, Generation Hope and yeeeesh, it’s the same old dense X-Universe. SIMPLIFYYYYYY, MAN.

    • What made you think there would only be 2 titles? When was the last time only 2 X-Men titles were being put out? 1989?

    • I’m sure Marvel knows how many books the market can support and like to play it close to the edge, but I’m with you that a little consolidation and streamlining would be nice.

That said, I think they HAVE been doing a good job ensuring each title has a particular flavor and is mostly self-contained (you can see it as a positive or a negative, but adjectiveless, Astonishing, Legacy, and Uncanny are pretty independent of each other).

But since Schism seems to be about bringing everyone together to choose a side, I wouldn’t have objected to a more cohesive, scaled down line of X-titles.

    • I suppose sweet naïveté took hold of my better judgement. Seeing as Schism was going to bring about a new status quo and that they were relaunching Uncanny, I suppose it was just wishful thinking on my part that they would hold true to a very sharp divide within the X-family that would be reflected by only two books on each side. Alas, I was a fool. Also, when was the last time the X-Men were really enjoyable? 1989? Coincidence?

    • @Alan

I think New Mutants was the first X-Men ongoing spinoff (in 1983-4?), followed by the Wolverine ongoing, X-Factor in 1986, then 1991 Jim Lee X-Men, and…..there you go.

    • You are forgetting Astonishing. That makes 5 regular X-Men books.
So let’s see: one X-Men book until 1991, two X-Men books from 1991 to 2004, three X-Men books from 2004 to 2009, four in 2010, five in 2011… the growth appears to be exponential. Of course I’m excluding x-books such us Wolverine, New Mutants, etc… counting only X-Men team books.

    • @odino1 You forgot about X-Treme X-Men

    • Ooops, x-treme… that’s right, so we had 3 x-men books from 2001 to 2009.

    • @ Fett02

      It’s kind of amazing that a book titled “X-Treme X-Men” wasn’t a product of the 90’s, no?

  10. i think domino is the chick on the right. i can make out a gun holster. she was also on x-force with warpath so it’d make sense

  11. Lets see… Jubilee, Pitt, The leader and some chick with a pterodactyl for a head.

  12. I’m going to says those are Warpath, Emma, Hope, Magneto, and maybe storm in the corner.

  13. No more teasers? Guess you forgot Generation Hope and X-Men: Legacy (which I don’t think iFanboyt posted about).

Just when I was about to drop it, I’m kind of excited about this series now. I always liked those X-Books with just secondary memembers

  14. When you are going to have one character revealed and the rest in shadows, and Jubilee is the one revealed, you probably made the wrong choice as to which one to highlight. Jubilee? the worst X-Man of all time? ewwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww.

    • Big fan of Maggot? Or Marrow? Or Thunderbird III? I’m not defending Jubilee, just saying she’s got some competition for that title.

  15. Is Sabertooth back from the grave? I think he’s one of them.

Why aren’t Wolverine and Jubilee on one team? Did they have a schism, too? Eww, tat sounds inappropriate. She’s WAY too young for him.

  16. Everyone complaining about Jubilee needs to go read the Wolverine and Jubilee miniseries from a few month ago. It was was pretty great.

  17. I don’t read X-Men much, but Jubilee as a vampire makes me want to follow what she’s in.
