Respectable zombie fans in the know will be aware that today was the first day of production on AMC's Walking Dead TV series, based on the comics written by Robert Kirkman. You would also already know that the six episode first season is written, produced, and directed by Frank Darabont.
AMC was so kind as to send us the first preview of "The Walkers".

Nice. Great makeup for that particular zombies. Love the little touch with the eyes, you don’t see that much in zombie films.
So far everything newsworthy about this show has been quite good. My expectations are threw the roof so far with this.
She needs Visine, and a turtleneck. I can’t wait to see this. I hope it’s awesome.
The eyes are a nice touch definitely bringing my faith in the show much higher ever since they announced that it won’t be Black & White. Hopefully the atmosphere of dread & fear will echo on in the TV show (cross my fingers)!

AMC has eight pictures of the walkers, damn they look creepy. the color pallette isnt straying too far from the black and white of the book. I can’t wait to see this.
… judging from the pictures shown on the website one of the walkers looks eerily like Jim Carey…

Two things: Frank Darabont does good work and AMC makes good TV series. I have faith it will be a good show.
I still wonder how they are going to be able to produce a rated R comic series on AMC,,,Alot of the content will have to be toned down..I wish this could had been a HBO or a Showtime venture but I still have high hopes
It has been over a decade since I’ve purposely made time to sit down and watch a show. I don’t Tivo and I don’t follow TV shows.

Being Darabont, I kind of hold out hope for a black & white version on the DVD’s of the series. He did that with "The Mist" and I personally have no desire to ever watch the colored version again.
