iFanboy at New York Comic Con 2011!

It’s that time of year again – it’s time for the great, big ol’ comic book convention right here in iFanboy’s own back yard! It’s time for the New York Comic Con!

We will be all over the con this year, running around, as is our want, like camera toting fools. We’ll be covering the action, talking to some folks, and soaking it all in. And we’ll be recording the action for all of those who can’t attend

If you’re attending the convention, there are a bunch of places you can see us.

See Us at a Booth!

This year, iFanboy HQ at NYCC will at Table #F1 in the Podcast Area of the con floor.  We may not be there all time, as we’ll be out doing interviews, but if you stop by, there’s a good chance you can catch us.  Also, there will be some amazing giveaways from our sponsors at Comedy Central! If you’re a “Weird Al” Yankovic fan, then you’re definitely going to want to stop by and get some of the cool free stuff about “Weird Al’s” latest live concert released on Blu-Ray/DVD!

See Us at a Party!

This year we’ve teamed up with our friends at Shirts for a Cure to throw an awesome party and help in the fight against breast cancer.  We’ll be welcoming comic book superstars Kieron Gillen (Uncanny X-Men, Journey Into Mystery, Phonogram) and Jamie McKelvie (X-Men: Season One, Phonogram) to step up to the turntables to DJ, as well as our very own Ron Richards (DJ Ronxo) will be DJing a set too.  Proceeds from drinks will go charity to help fight breast cancer! This has got the makings of yet another epic iFanboy party that you don’t want to miss!

WHEN: Friday, October 14th – 9 PM to close
WHERE: Idle Hands Bar – 25 Avenue B (between 2nd St. and 3rd St.)

RSVP on Facebook! (It’s not required, but it’s nice to know how many people are coming.)

See Us at a Panel!

Ron will be moderating the second ever Food and Comics panel.  The first one at C2E2 was such a success that we’re back with chef Wylie Dufresne, C.B. Cebulski (Marvel) and other special guests to talk about the intersection of Food and Comics!

Food and Comics Panel with Wylie Dufresne
Date: Friday, October 14, 2:45 pm – 3:45 pm
Location: 1A15
Speakers: Brian Azzarello, CB Cebulski, Wylie Dufresne
Description: C.B. Cebulski, Marvel’s SVP of Creator and Content Development (and writer of the food blog Eataku.com), and Wylie Dufresne, molecular gastronomic chef and owner of restaurant wd~50, and more special guests share the stage for an hour talking about the new horizons in foodie culture and comics culture and where they often (and appetizingly) interconnect.

  17. I had a lot of fun at my first ever con! Thanks to Brian (aka PraxJarvin) for sticking around and showing me the ropes.

I didn’t go to the party though because I felt like I was gonna die after the con. lol Seriously I was not prepared for the heavy lifting and walking so I was kinda a wreck by 5pm. But I’ll learn from my mistakes and hopefully stay longer next time. Hope everyone else had a blast!

I was coincidentally in town on vacation, so I was able to attend on Friday. Wow, what a big huge thing that was. I’m only used to Emerald City. All the video game exhibits and dancing expos and other multimedia stuff. Sheesh. A lot of fun though. I finally got a chance to meet Terry Moore and babble on and on about his work. Really nice guy. Like his work, very genuine and unique.

Saw the iBoys recording a couple interviews during the day, but didn’t want to bother. Looked like you guys more than had your hands full. Look forward to the video shows.

Oh, and what was up with Ron and Josh dressing like twins? Was that coordinated?
