I was watching the christmas episode of Little Einsteins with my daughter last week. It’s one of those cartoons for very young kids, where the characters ask the viewers questions, which allows me to have my own fun. One of the characters gets a “wish box” and turns to the audience and says “What do you want in you wish box?” I said “Gwyneth paltrow’s head!” and he said “Cool! that’s what i want too!”

You’re joking, right? You are aware about Pandora in mythology who got a box containing all the evil in the world and she opened it because of curiosity and unleashed evil upon the world… right, right!? 0_o

@ comicBOOKchris That’s her middle name. Her full name is Pandora Deux Ex Machina Just Kidding Escape Clause.
The thing is that Pandora has nothing to do with re-dos or universe changing. That box that she had contained the world’s evil, which is why when shit goes down, people say “Pandora’s box has been opened!” It’s not a very subtle name, but to assume that it has something to do with doing away with the new 52 at this point is flat out wrong.
@comicBOOKchris: Yeah, I don’t understand why some people are expecting an escape hatch.
I get that they might be unnecessarily bitter about the changes brought about by the New 52, but it seems like a lot of them are just hunting for anything that might possibly someday in the future lead to a short-sighted “Ah-ha! I told you so!” moment of pathetic internet glory.
DC put a lot of eggs in their New 52 basket, and as far as I can see there haven’t been any serious cracks.
i wouldn’t be surprised if she was a reset button, because thats the kind of move the big 2 has conditioned us to think or expect a stunt like that. I really don’t think she’ll be used that way though..seems too easy. i think her more as a bridge….”a reason” storywise that the reboot happened…just examining the collateral damage. I’m sure she’ll be a character in the first event they do.

DC clearly has a history of on-the-nose character names, so I’m a little surprised at the visceral reactions to “Pandora”, especially since others have explained that there’s really nothing on-the-nose about it yet.
Sure it’s heavy handed, but they also have a man whose powers are above all other called “Superman”, a guy in the water called “Aquaman”. A bad guy called “Darkseid” from the dystopian planet “Apokalypse”? And that thing in the swamp? Well, you see where I’m headedi
