Hacking and Slashing Every Month

The move to Image has been good for Hack/Slash.  Since their first mini-series, My First Maniac, sales are up, and Tim Seeley is flying high.

"We've brought in a bunch of new readers with our move to Image, and now felt like a great time to get back into an ongoing series!" Seeley, the series creator says. "The new series will continue the kind of stories Hack/Slash readers love while being totally accessible to newbies!"

Based on that success, the book will go monthly in February, with art by Dan Leister, who did the mini. As always, Cassie Hack will be hunting down and probably maiming some evil-doers.  This time out, it's a slasher hanging around where the kids make out.  I wonder if it's called Inspiration Point.

Look for Hack/Slash #1 on February 9, for a cover price of $3.50.  If this is the kind of thing you like, and your shop is the kind of shop that doesn't keep these kinds of things in stock, make sure you let them know.

  1. I’ve heard good things about this series and just ordered the first omnibus. If I like it I’m definitly getting on board with the ongoing

  2. I read the first Omnibus and it was okay. I don’t think horror is my thing.

  3. Love Hack/Slash, and am so glad to see it back to an ongoing.

  4. I missed it the first time round, glad to see it being published by such a good company. I’m gonan be picking this up.

  5. I didn’t really care for the first Omnibus, but the second one was Way better. I’m way down for this on a monthly basis.

  6. What’s this series all about?

  7. the series is about a duo, a girl and a big monster kinda guy that go around and hunt down and kill "slashers" so like Jason Vohees and Michael Myers and Freddy, etc. . . .  but not those specific characters, just slashers like that, it’s actually pretty entertaining. I want to support this, but $3.50 is still maybe a bit much, since they kinda repeat the same thing every issue, I’ve only read one trade though so I can’t judge the whole thing, it was very well done, I’m on the edge, the edge I tell ya. . .

  8. I love Hack/Slash.  It has been consistently great, and am glad to hear that it will be going back to an ongoing.  My only problem is that I have read the first omnibus and several of the later issues, and I don’t know whether or not this will completely destroy the continuity.  Either way, I will be right there when it comes out.

  9. Has anyone heard any news about why the 3rd omnibus keeps getting pushed back? Its on its 3rd or fourth rescheduling at this point. Are they adding more material?
