‘Arrow’ – S01E15 – “Dodger”

Dodger

Let’s all congratulate Emily Bett Rickards now that Felicity has been ungraded to series regular!

Here is how “Dodger” is described:

COLTON HAYNES (“TEEN WOLF”) GUEST STARS AS ROY HARPER — Felicity (Emily Bett Rickards) tells Oliver (Stephen Amell) he’s all work and no play, so he asks Detective McKenna (guest star Janina Gavankar) on a date. A jewel thief named Dodger (guest star James Callis) hits Starling City and targets someone very close to Oliver. Meanwhile, while working with Laurel (Katie Cassidy), Thea (Willa Holland) gets her purse stolen by a very fast pickpocket named Roy Harper (guest star Haynes). Moira (Susanna Thompson) makes a move against Malcom (John Barrowman).

I look forward to your thoughts, opinions, gripes, live-blogging, etc.

  1. Hey it’s Dr Gaius Baltur!!!

  2. Hey and now it’s President Roslins aide that turned out to be a cylon scumbag!

  3. Man, Roy Harper’s a d-bag.

  4. All I have to say was that Felicity was gorgeous in this episode. Great episode though. I really am loving this series.

  5. Nobody is gonna mention that the accountant from The Dark Knight showed up on the show tonight?

“And the TV there with the so called plan. The Batman has no jurisdiction. He’ll find him and make him squeal.”

Good episode. This show keeps getting better and better.

  6. Woah, she looks smoking hot in that screenshot…

  7. This show is so much fun!

Tonight I got probably the most SMALLVILLE-ish vibes from the show that I’ve had all season between Roy Harper dressing in red (at least they didn’t put him in red and yellow) and Felicity as the bookish hot inner circle tech support sidekick recalling Chloe.

I also really like that they let Ollie have an edge. He’s not a boyscout. “Because I don’t know you” was COLD.

    • Agreed. This show is so much fun.

I really enjoy seeing how the different DC characters get integrated into the show. I just realized two episodes ago that Luarel was Black Canary. Now the inclusion of Roy Harper, aka Red Arrow, aka Arsenal, aka Speedy. Awesome. Still holding out that Felicity takes up the mantel of Artemis.

My only fear for this show is that it becomes to much of a formula show, and they burn through to many DC characters. Some nice 2-3 episode long arcs featuring the same villain would be nice. I thought Count Vertigo would have stuck around a little longer.

    • gritty what is the female detectives name does it sound similar to hawkgirls alter ego

  8. I continue to be impressed with this show. As Conor pointed out, this episode was just fun. It was nice seeing Roy show up and in what capacity is going to be fun to discover. Here’s hoping he doesn’t lose an arm. Even Felicity, who I haven’t been a fan of, was enjoyable. I have no problems with her so long as she continues to be written and performed the way she was here. Also, James Callis made for a fun mini-villain this week. Anyone know if he played a character from the comics? Didn’t catch his name here as I just kept referring to him as Baltar of Earth-41, which is the earth I’ve decided this takes place on. Anywho, on to next week!

  9. At first i thought it was gonna be Bart Allen

  10. This kind of felt like their Valentines Day episode. It was very, dare I say…..Cute.

  11. My favourite part was how much Diggle was loving Felicity calling Ollie on all his crap. Then she starts calling them BOTH on their personal lives. Awkward funniness ensues because they cant be the stoic boys club anymore.

Thought the Dodger was a bit flat though. Baltar is capable of so much more…

  12. Okay, this is the one episode that fell a little short. I didn’t buy into the situation of Felicity encouraging both guys to go out on dates. It felt forced. And having her be the victim of Dodger’s necklace bombs was predictable. We know and we ALL do know that she’s not going to be blown up. Oliver’s reveal at the end was put in to offset the cutesy factor, as I see it.
The episode wasn’t horrible, just not at the same level as the rest.

  13. Love the show but the Windows product placement was really distracting this week.
