Comics are like baseball. Both share a fanbase that is aging and shrinking. The market is mostly aimed at adults and very few kids have time, interest (or funds) for comic books given the more interactive world of xbox, playstation, et al. Not enough influx of new readers (consumers) as the older ones taper off. Not sure I would have had time for comics when I was a kid if the internet had existed then (saying that makes me feel old). Sad to say but I believe the comic industry (like most print media) is dying a slow death. Hopefully it will morph into something sustainable but I would not wager on it. By the way ... excellent article.
Yes, the magazine quality declined over the years. However, this is just one more sign that the printed comic industry continues crawling towards a slow, painful death.
I would recommend that DC try to develop a decent rogue's gallery for her. Many top tier heroes have a solid stable of villains. Who does WW have? Cheetah? Giganta?
The Joker has helped to define Bats. Same with Lex and Supes. The Flash has Mr. Snart and buddies. A good antagonist will usually make the hero more interesting, complex and multi-dimensional.
Thor: "Stop! Doth Hammertime!"
WW: "Is that Mjolnir in your pants or are you just happy to see me?"
I dig that Ghost Projekt cover.
Very Frank Frazetta-esque.
