June 28, 2015 10:39 pm RON! I wasn't sure if he was back or not until he announced that he had the pick. I'll admit it, I made a noise. Welcome back.
March 13, 2013 9:54 pm Arcade is more of a looming presence than an actual one. He sets up some traps and such, but the majority of the book has been focused on the kids.
January 11, 2013 4:21 pm For one, the site in question does indeed link to chapters that are legally available in english. Also, it doesn't matter if the material is licensed to not in the US. They should not be linking to a site containing unauthorized manga.
January 11, 2013 1:53 am Maybe you guys shouldn't be posting images that have one of the largest hosts of illegally hosted manga labelled at the bottom. Surely there's a better place to find your images. Would you be linking to comics images with a watermark of a website that lets readers illegally read them?
September 13, 2012 6:29 pm Well, considering the cover is a direct homage to Battle Royale, I'd say it's an open and shut case.
August 16, 2012 4:05 pm Gantz is super good, but you have to give it a while. There's this problem where the main character is a complete sh!t for the first 9 volumes, but after that, there's some fantastic character development. The second arc (the blue volumes) is great stuff. Basic premise is this: A teenager is killed by a train and re-materializes in a room containing a black ball. The ball sends him, as well as others in the same situation, on missions to kill aliens. It usually doesn't end up well for the participants. Also, don't watch the anime. They tried to utilize computer animation and it... didn't work out too well.
August 16, 2012 2:58 pm Or, you know, you could NOT read manga illegally and give pirates thousands of dollars. Unfortunately, piracy is a fairly big problem in the manga industry, mainly because of the time delays. However, there are some legal places to read. http://www.sigikki.com/ has free first chapters and chapters that haven't been collected in a volume. The stories are pretty mature and awesome. I recommend Bokurano, a VERY dark take on the "children pilot a giant robot and save humanity" genre. http://www.jmanga.com/ is also pretty good for legal online viewing.
July 20, 2012 4:45 am I didn't have a problem with Robin. If The Dark Knight Returns can make their own Robin, so can the movie trilogy. None of the others can really work in the setting Nolan created, and if they gave him the name of one of the other Robins there would've been fan outcry and debate about how he wasn't portrayed as in the comics. His name was a little too on-the-nose for my liking, but his character arc made it clear that that was how he was going to end up.
March 22, 2012 5:01 pm @Minion Nope. Sailor Moon was always aimed at girls. The fact that two of the female characters were in a relationship just isn't a big deal over there. The Takarazuka Revue, a style of Japanese theatre where all parts are played by women, is immensely popular with women as well.
September 8, 2011 7:25 pm Man, if Canadian shipping wasn't $34.95 this would be a fantastic deal. Damn...
