Name: Mark Hoeffer

Bio: I stopped collecting comics many years ago, but started again with my son when DC launched its New 52 (I was always a Marvel collector before). My son has dyslexia, and doesn't like to read much, so I started him on comics to help him with his reading, and it has so far paid off.

April 26, 2012 6:19 am Hardware did have a sidekick (I just mind-blanked on her name) that appeared in issue #7 of Static (it sucks that that series is canceled!) with him.
April 26, 2012 6:14 am Yeah, a rotating team would be great. That way, you wouldn't loose anyone, and you could even rotate & intertwine storylines for growing & changing plots. I like the way the characters have developed over time, especially there interactions with each other. I would like to see more developement between Superboy, Wold & Sphere (especially SB & Wolf), as I think the combat advantages as fighting as a pair would be awesome. I also liked the SB/Robin team tactics, and would like to see more of that kind of thing in the future. Can't wait til the next new episode!
April 26, 2012 5:23 am I have to agree about being curious as to what team ST was talking about (hopefully not JLI), though I will reserve my judgement on him til I know him better. Congrads on the granddaughter!
April 26, 2012 4:55 am Yeah, it's a fantastic site! I have a whole file of stuff I have saved from it, and cruise the archive on a periodic basis. Glad you like it! I have a few more sites of funny stuff if you're interested. On a side note, it would be interesting to see how the version of the gods in WW would react to Shazam.
April 22, 2012 5:27 am He (my son) is also into greek mythology, so that helps a lot! As long as they help keep his interest in reading up, I will keep supporting it (doesn't hurt that I love the books as well! lol). I agree with both the mythology angle, as well as the shazam appearance. It would be even better if he had his own series, cause then there would be multiple angles for them to keep popping up in each others books as both friend and foe. The possibilities are interesting & many! I got the pic for my avatar at: www.ilovebacon.com (hope I can post that here without any problems)

April 22, 2012 5:13 am @crazyk I did not mean to imply that DC should forget it's older readers, and I do agree that it's a fine line to walk to try to balance both. But it seems to me that a lot of the older readers are unhappy with the new launch (admittedly, I only read the comments in the few titles I collect, so my sampling is a rather small pool), while moe of the newer readers like them. I too would like to see a more even balance, though I am not sure how that can be achieved when most of the griping I read is about how much better things used to be. There has to be a happy medium somewhere, and I just hope it's achieved before both sides decide to drop the whole thing.
April 19, 2012 9:38 am (didn't mean to submit the comment before I was finished! lol) As to the Billy Batson/CM story, I also think that being bounced around in the system will scar you, and make you act/react in ways most others wouldn't. The "nice kid" may still be in there, but hidden away from anyone that he would perceive in a position to cause him harm or discomfort (or just get too close). It would naturally take time for him to establish comfort, let alone trust, with anyone. Again, I would like to see how this plays out, and how this twerp becomes the hero he is capable of becoming.
April 19, 2012 9:32 am I have to agree with thompsonlive here. As another reader new to the DCU, I don't have any preconceived notions, or knowledge of "the way it used to be". From this perspective, I get the chance to enjoy (or not) the way things look for the 1st time. This is one of my favorite titles, and I like the way the characters interact (or at least try; or not) with each other. I also collect GA, and would like to see him join, or at least "bump into regularly" the JL, as I think his personality would be a great addition to the mix that is already there. for one would like to see where this goes.
April 18, 2012 11:57 am As we (my son & I) only collect 5 titles (due to finances), I guess I would have to say it really is in my top 5! lol But seriously, I really do like this title, especially the take on greek/roman mythology that is being used.
