April 24, 2010 10:38 am Well, I think it's not hard to figure out where my favorite Vertigo book ranks, seeing as how you didn't even mention it.  Have any of you ever read an issue of Air? (Though it does read better in trades)
April 15, 2010 10:10 pm I didn't pick up SHIELD for the exact reason Josh said-- I don't need SHIELD to be part of some Dan Brown-type conspiracy.  I'm cool with it being a Cold War, American espionage organization.  I've been disappointed with Hickman's Secret Warriors for the same reason-- he's getting away from everything that makes Nick Fury great to do something New! and Different! that's actually just really underwhelming.

...comic book fans are the most attractive and socially adjusted of the geek subcultures.

I made this same observation working for my comic shop's stall at Anime Boston last weekend  ^_^

Don't mislead Bobby from Seattle with your anti-Sandman bias!  When I was in high school, that was the only comic I read, but I would have killed for a sweet boyfriend to give me recommendations and take me to the comic shop the first time

(Go for it, Bobby!)

July 6, 2009 9:52 pm I do think it's interesting that all the positive reviews of Marvel Divas that I've found have been from men, and every single review from women that I've found have been negative.

@CaptainSweatpants: "Who thought of it first?"?

 Kurt Vonnegut.

Every time I see someone crying foul on Brubaker "ripping off" the concept from Lost, I die a little inside.  (Seriously, did you people read nothing in high school?)

As it is, I really like the idea of Steve Rogers, Marvel's perennial "man out of time" is now literally outside of time.  Great start to the mini!

LOL, I was reminded of the time over Christmas break when me and a friend from high school got into a good old-fashioned Marvel vs. DC debate, and it ended when I shouted "What the hell is going on in Final Crisis?!" and she responded, in all earnestness, "No one knows!!"

I'm still confused, but as long as Scott and Barda are back, I'm good.

I started to break myself of the stealth habit by going to the burger joint across the street from my LCS every Wednesday to have lunch and read my stack. I've been doing this for two years, and I still get twitchy about it :/
