Damian’s confrontation with Talia was a little meh, but I like where this is going.

Wow … I don’t usually get weepy at the end of a comic book … but DAMN!

October 26, 2011 12:06 pm @samoraiblack: It is an interesting dilemma. This website seems quite superhero- and Big 2-centered, so it doesn't surprise me this book isn't getting many pulls. I don't disagree with you though. I can't even remember how I stumbled upon this book, but have been totally glad to have found it.
October 26, 2011 11:57 am I can say that I'm not a partisan when it comes to DC vs Marvel. I enjoyed Flashpoint and Fear Itself equally well. But I find myself feeling like it is comparing apples and oranges to try and distinguish which one I felt was "better".
October 26, 2011 11:54 am It has been added to my Netflix queue!
October 26, 2011 11:44 am An intriguing, clever, but potentially banal and insipid narrative device. It will really depend on what they do with her and the quality of the story they tell. One thing is certain: the mysterious pink lady will certainly help sell comics.
October 24, 2011 3:16 pm DMZ, FF, Kirby Genesis, Journey Into Mystery, Planet of the Apes, Scalped ... looking forward to them all, except maybe Kirby Genesis, which I'm dropping after the first arc ... I've been 21 for the last 23 years ...
October 20, 2011 10:51 pm @Conor: Thanks ... duh ... Marvel sales record ... thanks for the redirect. But my other point remains cogent. The point of the DC reboot as I understood it was not just to revitalize sales, but to bring NEW READERS into the industry and to do that by building a DIGITAL market. I'll be very curious to see DC's sales in six months (of course, we'll likely never be privy to their digital sales numbers). Frankly, I don't see how the "New 52" will accomplish that ... particularly the content of some of their books (esp. hypersexualization of Catwoman and Starfire) won't fly very far with young readers engaging via digital platforms. And on the basis of conversations I've had with owners at one LCS in Denver, they're not seeing NEW readers coming into their store, but OLD'ish readers who are returning to the fold. How long will that last? What does it say about the entire reboot when arguably the best of the "New 52" was one we've been waiting nearly two years to read?
October 20, 2011 10:37 pm Wait ... Dolph Lundgren starred in a feature film as the Punisher?
October 20, 2011 11:29 am You can't really blame Joe Quesada ... he ain't in charge of editorial anymore ...
October 20, 2011 11:27 am Of course, with the DC reboot underway, the sales numbers during Fear Itself will seem to repudiate those of us who actually enjoyed this book and who appreciate where Marvel seems to be heading with all these characters. I contend that in the long run the DC "New 52" will have clearly failed to bring new readers/customers into the industry and will most certainly have failed to launch a new digital market (if Ultimate Spider-Man #1 broke digital sales records then the day/date launch of "New 52" titles must have been abysmal). I guarantee that in six months most folks will be praising the story-telling of the Marvel titles following Fear Itself and will be lamenting the utterly pitiful state of the DC crop (Bat books aside).
October 20, 2011 11:12 am If one book put me in such a bad mood that the rest of my buy pile couldn't left me out of it, then I'd be revamping my pull list post haste.
