Oh man, where do I start? Story wise, this is just all over the place. First of all, we leave…

June 14, 2013 7:43 pm Gotta go one extra....What movie did you expect to come out of Goyer, Snyder and Nolan? We praise them for their Batman...but did we really think somehow Man of Steel was going to be sweetness and light?
June 14, 2013 7:39 pm Are people truly shocked that Superman was turned into a Christ figure? Having just read All Star Superman, courtesy of Comixology's sale (thank you very much!), I can say that it's extremely difficult to not stray into that territory. If the movie is heavy on the Christ analogy, it's because the source material is also heavy on the Christ analogy. As for the destruction in Metropolis...this has been happening in movies for years. Now all of a sudden, sensibilities are being dashed. I feel like I'm watching that scene in Gladiator all of a sudden: "ARE YOU NOT ENTERTAINED?"
June 12, 2013 8:48 pm This book was just amazing. Aaron's voice in this book is what stood out for me. It's very easy to overdo the "epic" sound, and make things seem like an episode of Dragonball Z. This one truly feels like I'm reading some ancient bardic myth about an epic battle between gods and monsters. Aaron pulls back though at just the right time to bring it back down to "Earth", so to speak. When Gorr tells Thor, "I changed my mind. You're my favorite Thor", it strikes the perfect mocking tone. The looks on Thor's face does convey exactly what they were saying in that scene too. He looks like he knows they can't win. Damn, I'm so jacked when each issue of this book comes out.
June 6, 2013 10:47 am Navel-gazing > Supervillains. Say it ain't so, Bendis, say it aint so.
June 5, 2013 10:11 pm Dear lord, I hated this issue. 1) Based on where the X-Men were heading at the end of issue 11, and where this issue ends up, I'm pretty sure I could go straight from 11 to 13 without missing a beat. 2) I get it. I GET IT! Scarlet Witch, BAD! Iron Man, BAD! Hypocrisy abounds! And that's all well, and good, but then where was all this fine reasoning when these guys decided to write all this crap about Cyclops offing Prof. X, and Scarlet Witch wiping out mutantkind, etc, etc. It's like they're seeking "credit" for knowing this is all very hypocritical. GREAT! WRITE A BETTER STORY TO BEGIN WITH THEN! Can we please get past this Avenger Vs. X-Man angst!!!?? I've been waiting for about 4 issues now for someone to start laying a beat down on an actual Marvel Super Villain. Instead, we've got to rehash the stupidity of last year's crossover.
April 12, 2013 12:29 pm I think the biggest issue is that Comixology damaged their reputation here a bit. Their business model is built on easy access and wide selection. The disadvantages are the DRM model, the potential for it "all to go away someday", and the gatekeeper effect. All they did this week was highlight some of those disadvantages.

April 11, 2013 12:26 am "If you don’t like how a company is doing business, don’t do business with that company." Or write them, and complain, like many people did today. Who said this had to be an either or option? It's a false dilemma. It sucks that Apple caught a lot of flack for this, when at the end of the day, it was a screw up on Comixology's side. The point is that without that backlash that was catching both companies by storm, this probably wouldn't have been corrected, and the truth probably wouldn't have come out. So shame on Comixology...I'd rather you don't decide for me. Push the comics out there, and if Apple doesn't think it meets their standards, then so be it. Let them be the bad guys. Because now, you are.
April 5, 2013 1:06 pm Giffen's Justice League was pretty much a comedy and was hilarious. Bendis' All New X-Men, while not strictly a comedy, has several long sequences that are simply played for laughs and work well. Saga makes me laugh every issue. Yeah, I think it can be done.
April 4, 2013 2:40 pm I'm not, plenty of spoilers and summaries out there.
