September 9, 2008 2:58 pm Count me in as another enjoyer of the OC (mainly series 1 and 4). Seth Cohen did do a lot of damage control for the image of the geek for a lot of people I know. Suddenly it was a little cool to have different tastes. Double edged sword though, now every time I get spotted carrying/reading comics I get a "You're just like Seth Cohen!". Haven't really seen any recent interpretations of geeks that have continued on the positive side, only the geek = sexless social outcast model from Big Bang Theory and Beauty and the Geek.

I would probably have to admit I have the same unconditional love for Brian K Vaughn. Even if you showed me a piece of his work where he slanderously picks me apart, implementing me in watergate I'd probably still tell you that he has a point. I don't know why but I even find myself loving his sub par work.

I however cannot stand a single thing that Ellis writes. I'm not saying it's all bad, just that what I've tried did not resonate with me at all. He seems to come off as someone I would not like if I knew him. Also I thank god for places like ifanboy, there's far too many Dave James' out there.

My god, this was an amazing movie. That scene with Dent and Gordon in the hospital, my god, I was so tense I literally jumped and spilled popcorn when Dent screamed. I almost had zero problems with this film, which is crazy because I think I built it up way too much beforehand.

Also I thought the changing Joker origins were a great touch, and were exactly what the joker would do.

This issue was far too cheesy in every way. The thing I just couldn't get over was freaks reaction to Spierman saying there were drugs in the trunk. "DRUGS!" ...yeah addicts are totally into non-specific drugs. Have you ever heard one buying drugs? "I'd like to buy some drugs" "Ok, how many would you like?" "I would like 4 drugs please" "there you go".

Ok, I possibly had too much of a problem with that.

To be fair, I think it would be pretty difficult to put out an issue actually containing the mighty avengers considering they're currently tied into SI and in the middle of a fight elsewhere. An issue with them actually in it would therefore have to be non-SI related and then we'd get complaints that it was really irrelevant.

I personally really enjoyed this, found the new chracters to be surprisingly interesting (especially the shadowy guy at the end).

March 28, 2008 8:14 pm Great issue, but seriously what was with the second half of the book's art? Henry looked 14 on the last page. I'm mystified why this is getting cancelled, but at least theres hope we'll see some kind of continuation in Invincible Iron Man.
