Here it is. The moment we’ve all been waiting for. Wolverine vs. Cyclops. Patch vs. Slim. Ole’ Man Logan vs. Ole’ One Eye.

Hate to say it but this fight was as boring as a heavy weight boxing fight (today, not back in the day). This whole series feels like out of sync. Like it was divided into issues poorly. The first half of the story sucks the life out of the second. It read tired – the same argument between Cyke and Wolvie just with more shouting and spectators. Then when we get to the fight we have ridiculous stakes and the eye-rolling motivations. Where Jason Aaron opened this series with perfect characterizations of these men he reduces them to immature boys in this issue. Seriously, why would anyone take orders from either of these guys?

Alan Davis’ talent is wasted here. This is no Wolverine vs. Sabretooth. Nor is it Cyclops vs. Storm. This is you and your brother fighting over a comic book… just not this one.

Story: 2 - Average
Art: 4 - Very Good

  1. I completely agree!!! although I give the story a 1–it is just garbage what they ended up fighting over.(and it’s NOT the kids/standoff). This may be what makes me drop X-books after 30 years of reading every issue.

  2. I agree. I just feel like I’ve outgrown this story and these characters.
