Sometimes I feel so guilty for loving this book. But I read the mutant titles in the early 90’s, and this is the kind of stuff I grew up on. Cable, Stryfe, Archangel, Apocalypse…it hits my sweet spot. And this is the perfect book for Kyle and Yost because they can let there bloodlust go unimpeded. Plus, their version of Deadpool is great. “But what if he’s a zombie?”. Classic. I find Deadpool to be a character whose “sense of humor” can be douche chilling in the wrong hands (cough*Daniel Way*cough), but he’s being used very well here. My only qualm with this issue is that it is hard to distinguish what is going on in some of the panels. The art in this book is usually murky, but this time it seemed especially dark. Other than that, this book continues to be one of my favorites.
