Been a while since I've seen anyone write Wolvie like that, true to the character I grew up to love as my fave character in comics, and not the stereotyped, superficialized, and over-exposed character that he's become. From his love of singe-malt, his enhanced senses and tracking ability, but most of all, and what signified to me that Aaron truly knows the character, portraying his actual reluctance to kill, an aspect of the character that peeps seem to forget all the time, the dichotomy between man and animal Wolvie has constantly struggled with throughout his history, and the struggle to suppress his beserker rage.
But this book was enjoyable on so many levels, the dry humor throughout with all the presents being bottles of liquor, the different variations of the quinjet outside the cabin, Peter not being invited, and Deadpool making a fool of himself at the party.
As for the art, Jeff Palo doesn't draw a very flattering Storm, let's just put it that way, but I like his style and didn't mind his work in this. Just as a stickler for everything Wolvie, hate it when artists draw his claws either too long (McNiven) or too short (Jim Cheung), but in Palo's case, he draws them all different lengths. In that regard, love how they're drawn on the cover, great cover at that by Rivera.
