Pellet Reviews

Batman: Another soild issue by Azzarello and Risso. The art has improved once again and the interaction between Batman and Gordan was fun to read.

Kamandi: Still no gorilla’s with guns. But Lions on horses with swords is a nice replacement. By the way, why are horses not acting like humans on this Earth?

Superman: When this reads all together I think people will appreciate it more. It still has great art but reading it in single issues can be a bit ‘meh’. Not bad, but ‘meh’.

Deadman: The action is going to get heated up next issue. Great art in this, Heuck’s style of panel layout is getting overshadowed by Mike Allred’s.

Green Lantern: No weird noses in this issue! Just like Superman I think will read much better in one sit threw.

Hawkman: If your going to rely on Aquaman on saving you with a bunch of Dinosaurs. Your boned.

Metamorpho: Mike Allred and Neil Gaiman should make comics from now on together. Having this entire strip laid out with the periodic table is genius. Having the sentences begin with the symbols of the elements is brilliant. Java not minding you touching him? Priceless

Teen Titans: Yet another comic going into big things next strip.

Strange Adventures: Can’t…..stand….these….ugly….creatures!

Supergirl: If it wasn’t for the Metamorpho strip then this would win for the best of the week. Very funny to see Supergirl bored on the couch and the art by Conner expressing the boredom is well done. If there is another Wednesday Comics in the future, can this stay as a perminant strip?

Metal Men: I thought I recognized that Chemo creation! He helped destroy Bludhaven all those years ago. Fun comic as ususal.

Wonder Woman: *reads book titled ‘Toe Fungus’*

Sgt. Rock: Considering I just watched ‘Inglourious Basterds’, I’m up for some more ‘natzee killin’. Shame I’m going to have to wait next issue.

The Flash: It’s all coming ahead, as the Flashes merge back into one being. With Flash: Rebirth getting a bit long winded, what say you people on with Kerschl being the Barry Allen writer? I say screw Geoff Johns and replace him with Kerschl! He knows more about Barry then just doing call backs to the Silver Age.

Demon and the Cat: Noticing a trend with good amount of these strips getting heavy next issue?

Story: 5 - Excellent
Art: 5 - Excellent

Comments

  1. I’m not so sure that Heuck is being overshadowed by Allred. The Deadman strip has been the best thing going, despite all of the clever ideas that Gaiman and Allred have offered.

  2. @coltrane: The Deadman strip is very fun to read. The panel layouts are very imaginative. But when you pair it up with Metamorpho, there’s no contest on what gets more praise.
