Slighty Longer Pellet Reviews

Batman: My favorite part of ‘The Dark Knight Returns’ is where Batman takes a goon all the way up the building. Then scare him to death when he shows how far he’s up. That’s basically what this was as Batman is interrogating a goon for information. This title has gone back from medicore to great read within two strips. Probably the best of this week.

Kamandi: Still gorgeous to look at but this was more of a slow burn then anything else. No Gorilla’s with machine guns in this! Boo!

Superman: So the aliens are going to teach Superman a lesson. By killing his parents? Dark stuff. The art still hasn’t lost a beat since the beginning.

Hawkman: “Of all the gin joints in the world; why did I choose Dinosaur island?”

Green Lantern: Those faces! Ugh look at those faces!

Metal Men: The action is finally stepping up and Didio is still doing a great job with this story. I’m not going to ignore the artists though; I’d love to see these guys do an ongoing Metal Men comic in the future.

Metamorpho: The acients had lazers and other high tech devices? For Neil Gaiman anything works for me. No chutes and ladders game here though.

Teen Titans: A bit of a set up strip to get on to the final battle. One thing to note though; this strip seems to have continuity involve. Note to editors; we don’t need continuity in these strips!

Strange Adventures: I like Pope’s take on Dr. Fate; but still can’t stand the art in this.

Supergirl: Aquaman is a jerk and he made Supergirl cry! Now I wish I didn’t cheer for the clam phone last issue.

Wonder Woman: Hmm…looks like Joss Whedon is doing a WW film. Oh wait; this article is two years old.

Sgt. Rock: I didn’t realize the man being tortured here was Sgt. Rock. I’m gald this comic is going somewhere; I just can’t wait to see some Nazi’s get killed.

The Flash: Too many Flashes!! Plus a dinner date goes horribly wrong! Silver age story at it’s finest.

The Demon and the Cat: This is almost as bad as Wonder Woman now. I can’t understand what’s happening here.

This is my third time picking this idea as pick of the week. First issue for obvious reasons; but the forth issue because I had nothing else to buy. This time I am picking it for no easy reason, because there was a title up for contention. Overall this is still a soild comic and with some strips going into big action in the future; it’s going to get heavy soon.

Story: 5 - Excellent
Art: 5 - Excellent
