This book, I think, drops more f-bombs than the entirety of Pulp Fiction. Sometimes that can feel overdone, but at the same time... it's real. I mean, you're basically faced with the end of the world. Are you going to watch your laguage, or try to make yourself sound as tough as possible? Speaking of tough, how bad-ass is Carl, the little kid? Anyway, what we have hear is an issue bridging the gap between plot points. Now the gang, with new members, is on their way to Washington DC, to alert the powers-that-be (which are assumed to be hiding out) of how to stop the zombie apocalypse. This book is much better when something is at stake, or there's something to "chase", but this new direction is going to test Kirkman's skill in that we're going to be looking for the formula. Likely one member of the new group will turn on everyone. Someone will have sex. The guy who knows what caused the zombie genesis will either turn out to be truly crazy, or will die before he can say anything about the truth. So what will it be, Kirkman? This, or will you surprise us yet again, and tear our heart out in the process by killing someone we love or turning a corner we'd never expect?

I vote that someone will sex, and then turn on them, then we grow to love how crazy they are and then they get killed holding an infant. Its possible…
I still think it would be awesome if the infant showed up later as a zombie. It IS possible. The shot didn’t completely destroy the baby. His mother lands on top of him, he slowly eat his way out… and later, we revist the prison and encounter a "crawler". Man, that would be awesome!
@Templar:….You should give your ideas to George Romero, that’s sick! lol
It’s the first thing I thought when I saw the mother shot, and noticed we couldn’t tell if the baby only got clipped.
Zombie babies, eh? It wouldn’t be the first time we’ve seen it.
