I finished reading this 2 minutes ago, and I tought I should write a review.
First of all, the cover is great. I think the cover made me pick this in the first place. I was hoping to see interior art at the same level, and it surprised me.
Cafu is a great artist, and I really like how he drew Superman, Batman, and Black Canary.Clearly, the art is a strong point of this book in my opinion.
Another aspect of the book I find very good is the lettering, that stays subltle until the action scenes at the end. ( the SPLASH!!! scene was very good).
Ah, we got to the story. Well, can’t say too many good things about this. Basically, it’s a revenge story. The League storms a Intergang weapon depo, and Batman finds a folder referring to a new Intergang mine in Zambesi. The contact and the man with the influence in the area is named Kwesi. Somehow the folder contains pictures of Kwesi murdering Vixen’s mother (?!). So, she returns to Zambesi in search of revenge.
Well, the story is boring,until the battle scene at the end that lets us with a nice cliffhanger. But the plot is predictable ( that Sia guy is going to rebel against Kwesi).
A nice scene was that with Superman breaking the news to Vixen. It really showed how Superman affects his teammates, and the strong relations he established with everyone.
Overall, a book with very good art, but I hope the story gets better. Must-have if you’re a Vixen fan.
