I find myself at a crossroads with this comic. I’ve been with the series since the beginning, and I’ve written several reviews on this site praising its greatness. It feels like, however, that the storyline that concludes here has been going on FOREVER, which is something to say for a title that ships twice almost every month. Flash has become the Matt Murdock of the Marvel U, moping for the last several months as he looks to overcome the troubles that the Venom suit has brought him. With this issue, I was looking for a cathartic end to that storyline, but when it was said and done, I just didn’t really feel wowed by the issue. Not only are we still going to probably have a mopey Flash Thompson but I would also say we don’t get much closure from this story for his character. The focus on this arc shifted from Flash to Betty, which I personally don’t find very interesting.

It could be that I don’t feel much at the end of this book because I’m just feeling burned out by the character and the story. In the past 17 months, we’ve gotten at least 25 issues of this series. That’s a lot, if you ask me. So, here begins my break for the time being, which is too bad because I was really digging this book.

  1. seeing as there is only one issue left on remenders run you might aswell get that then quit. Personally I am loving the series but will be jumping off when remender leaves.

  2. I felt the same way you do and left a couple issues ago.

This review did not make me regret that decision.

    Thanks for the review.
