In yet another instance of awesome writing trumps shitty art, Uncanny
kicked ass this week.
I love those little character summarization boxes more than I can describe.
I love seeing Karma getting a little bit of respect.
I adore Dazzler getting to be bad ass. (When she took on Juggarnaut was one of my favorite issues).
I would have liked it if Betsy would have gotten her old body back, but it is nice to see her back with the team regardless.
I am kind of curious what the body in the casket was, if it wasn't Jean, but I'm sure it will be revealed. I love that Fly-clops is now cannon and the fight scenes were suitably fun.
Greg Land's faces still look like they're from pornos and there was no action sequence that did anything to excite me.

I re-read this and it’s actually a pretty tight fight issue (the first time around I was too busy being annoyed by the Phoenix misdirect and by Maddie getting shuffled offstage without ever displaying any personality over however many issues she was an antagonist –)
And most of the story elements made no sense (they needed to steal a piece of hair to tell them to go look in a grave with Jean’s NAME ON IT?) But stepping back from all that it was kind of fun for what it was. I wonder if Fraction’s ever going to work with a first-rate artist again? Because he writes fights that would be fun if I could follow them.
