Two words: Atrocious art. Greg Land has absolutely no storytelling ability whatsoever. It’s a shame a writer as gifted as Matt Fraction has to be saddled with such a horrible artist, because his story suffers greatly because of the art. For example, on one page, Dr. Nemesis (I think) is shown talking to Cyclops and Wolverine with his back to the reader the whole time. He hasn’t been seen in the entire issue up to that point. If you are just picking up this book for the first time, you’re going to wonder why the guy in the white suit has his back to you the whole time. It’s just weird. But it’s probably because Mr. Land couldn’t find a celebrity in “US Weekly” that looked like Dr. Nemesis that he could trace. I guess there were no Kevin Spacey wearing a fedora pictures available. But seriously, what is Marvel thinking? Why choose an artist for one of your marquee books that is so bad at drawing distinct characters that you have to identify everyone with text boxes throughout each issue? It boggles my mind.

Story: 2 - Average
Art: 1 - Poor
