1. Wolverine has dressed like that fairly regularly, over the years. And there are a lot of cowboys in Western Canada.

Other than that, sounds like the book probably just isn’t for you.

  2. The character descrips got smarmy real quick. They’re trying to set a playful tone for the book I think, but I wasn’t crazy about it either.

Nightcrawler likes pirates and pirate movies. Errol Flynn is one of his idols. See the Cockrum Nightcrawler mini (from 20 years ago) for more. That’s about the last time anyone seemed to care about Nightcrawler’s character. The he turned into a priest. *sighs*

Good review. But you need to put some of these in:

  3. I rather liked the "Wolverine: Ubiquitous" joke.

It was certainly much more clever than the other descriptions.

  4. To suggest that this group is all of the X-Men who matter, one would have to ignore:

    1. Iceman – I just love the character.

    2. Rogue – One of the most powerful X-Men

    3. Gambit – Down ‘n’ dirty enough to make Wolverine look like a boy scout

    4. Psylocke – Professional ass-kicker

    5. Bishop – May be a complete asshole, but is also a great ass-kicker.

I know that some of these characters are either out of comission, fighting for other sides, or are otherwise available, but I just wanted to make the point that they are just as essential to the X-Men as the current roster. What I like about this group is that it is of reasonable size and has personality.

  5. Gotta agree with this review. I found this issue sooooo dull. It was just boring. Very retro and not in a good way.
