A book of returns. The team is back from the Age of Apocalypse, life seed in tow to stop Archangel. More importantly Jerome Opeña has returned with a goddamn vengeance. Remender and Opeña take what by all rights is one of the most convoluted, continuity heavy tales I have ever read (with multiple X-Runs being referenced left, right, and center) and make one of the clearest and strongest issues this week (unlike say this review). Oh, if you need it? Pyslocke tells us step by step what it takes to fight Dark Beast, Archangel, and friends. It's a jaw dropping fight that elevates Betsy character as well as her standing as one of the all time great badasses in X-Land. It's so rare Betsy is written this strongly and in control. In a book full of some of the manliest men in the Marvel U, it's Betsy who has taken center stage as we move into the endgame. The final two pages pack more action and emotion than any other book you are reading right now without using a single word. Great stuff all the way around.
