Like Marvel Zombies, Ulimatum is a slasher flick in comic form.  You don’t expect or want the Oscar (or Eisner), you want to see the blood, have a scare, see how far they go, and have a laugh. 

Loeb is doing an impressive job of building up a body count with different twists.  Unlike most comics, you want to know who will survive?  (My only criticism was the obvious Mystique opening scene.)

Finch’s art is very strong….but there are alot of pin-ups.   ALOT OF PIN-UPS…two two page spreads and two one page pin-ups.  The book reads very fast.

A guilty pleasure.
