I’m not sure whether i liked this or not. Yes it moved the larger story along and gave us important backstory. Yes it was just an entire issue dedicated to characters sitting around and talking about their feelings. I wasn’t bored, but i wasn’t really excited for the next issue either. This is an example in why decompressed storytelling can be a negative. This might read wonderful in trade, but so far 2 issues in, and we still have no superhero.

I really hope issue #3 starts having some actual superhero adventures in it or else i’m going to drop it. I know its really fashionable to gush over superhero books where the main character only appears on the cover, but to me thats called a bait and switch.

The art was exceptional, although i think the coloring went a bit overboard. The modeling was overdone and skin tones started to look like glossy plastic.
