I reviewed the first issue so i’m gonna try to be six for six here.

That being said. WTF! As I stated in my review for the first issue, I cannot fathom why this book is titled Ultimate Avengers. It’s almost like it should be Ultimate Marvel Team-Up or Ult. Mash-Up or something along those lines. We’ve got War Machine, The Punisher, Hawkeye, and another character with “Hulk” powers all teaming up to take on Ghost Rider. If anything this book should maybe be called Ultimate West Coast Avengers or Ultimate Defenders with a line-up like that. I’m an Millar “Ultimate Book” loyalist and will continue to read, but I feel I’ll also continue to be completely befuddled. As I sit here writing, I’m trying to talk about how it’s written and not just give a sysnopsis. Maybe that’s just the point though, maybe I should just sit back and enjoy the popcorn summer blockbuster aspect of it, ala Loeb’s Hulk, and not get so hung up on what it’s called or why it’s called that.

Lenil Yu smashes another homerun with this issue. Almost to the point where I’m no longer impressed with the art. It’s just consistantly good. If it were another writer, the art would def. keep me interested beyond a lackluster storyline.

Story: 3 - Good
Art: 5 - Excellent
