Despite the banner, this issue (and the miniseries as a whole) has little to do with the actual Death of Spider-Man story. It provides two things to that story: a) A scene of Spidey taking a bullet for Captain America, and b) A legitimate reason why the Ultimates aren’t helping with the breakout of the Secret Six (Five?) As a story on it’s own, however, it’s pretty decent.

This issue plays with an idea Mark Millar has been toying around with in the Ultimates: superpowers being bought and sold like weapons. In this case, it’s Tyrone Cash, the Pimp Hulk, selling gamma powers in the form of pills. It’s a neat idea and works in the context of the universe, but it diminishes Bruce Banner’s character and his struggle. Anyway, some hulked-up folks fight Gregory Stark, the second comic book character this week to kick ass in a nice suit, after which Stark demonstrates what he does with S.H.I.E.L.D.’s resources at his hands. It’s some pretty sweet action and Lenil Yu does his job well of making it look good.

The teaser for the final issue is that it’ll be the Ultimate’s big climactic fight and their reactions to the events of Ultimate Spider-Man #160. I’m more interested in the latter, but then again i’m weird like that.
