I’ve been trying to work out what my reasons are for buying this book. If it’s for Superman, Batman or Wonder Woman, I already buy their solo books. If it’s to see them interacting, I already buy Justice League of America. If it’s because it’s a weekly, then it is really going to have to be something special after Countdown.

KB is a very uneven writer; sometimes I am impressed, often I am bludgeoned by not very interesting words. The coffee buying scene was headache inducing in its obviousness; compare and contrast the Trinity’s characters by how they order their coffee. It was trite. Fortunately, FN on the back-up was much more to my liking, with a fast, efficient style. And light-hearted too.

I know MB is quick on the draw, but frankly some of this issue looked down right rushed. Perhaps it was the inking, so I will give him the benefit of doubt.

Am I interested in where this is going? Moderately. Will I stick around? Probably until I see the new Dynamic Duo Ragman and Rag Boy in action. Or should that be Ragman and Rags, or better still Ragman and Tatters the Boy Wonder.

  1. Honestly I though the coffee bit was rather concious of its obviousness. Very cheeky.

  2. Ah!  So I’m not the only one who was rolling my eyes at the coffee selections.  Trite is a perfect description.

  3. Just as trite as the coffee selection were their varying descriptions of their "dreams."
