So when this came out a few weeks ago, I thought that it had to be red herring, that Marvel wouldn’t reveal the end of SI weeks before the fnal issue shipped.

Boy was I wrong.  Go back and read this again after reading SI #8… On second thought, don’t waste your time.  Not that this comic was that bad.  In fact, Diggle’s script was close to being “very good” in my opinion, and the main reason I gave it a 3 instead of a 4 was only because of the the terrible, multi-page, Congressional hearing scene.  I hope that nobody thinks that’s how a hearing actually works, and I’m sad that Diggle chose to present the scene in that fashion.  I totally hate the way Marvel is cramming the idea down readers’ throats that the American people are SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO stupid that they would fall in love with Norman because he says some banal nonsense at a hearing (where he behaves like a petulant 5 year-old), and because “he got THE kill shot (oooooooh!)”.  TERRIBLE!

With that said, I hated One More Day (thought it was mindless, poorly conceived, and downright offensive) but I’ve since LOVED Brand New Day, so I’m willing to read Dark Reign with an open mind.  And I’m looking forward to Diggle’s continuing run on Thunderbolts.

Story: 3 - Good
Art: 4 - Very Good
