This is a good heist story arc and this issue represents the “getting the team together” part. Redmond’s dopey son, Augustus has gotten in trouble with the law and he has to find a way to get his son out of jail. The way he offers isn’t what I expected and I like that kind of surprise. The book has a very Ocean’s Eleven vibe (but without the smirking at the camera). This also plays as more serious with higher stakes, criminals die and prison feels real here. The art is great and while it isn’t easy to keep non-costumed characters differentiated in comics, it’s very clear who is who in Thief of Thieves. If you like heist or crime comics, this book is for you.
