Art by Charlie Adlard & Cliff Rathburn

While the story is certainly escalating in this issue, the art has fallen flat and then some. Kirkman is obviously rushing the book out every 3 weeks to ensure issue #100 is ready for San Diego. I’d almost like to see Adlard getting some help so these books don’t look so rushed and frankly amateurish on certain pages.

I’d hope that the art in landmark issue #100 is not as rushed, but we shall see.

Story: 4 - Very Good
Art: 2 - Average

Comments

  1. I’m a little surprised at your art rating. It seemed the same as every other issue, in my humble opinion.

  2. I agree that most of the pages in this issue are on par with recent issues. In general, the art has been going downhill lately. However, the “2” rating is primarily for page 20. That is the single worst page ever to be published in TWD primarily because of the faces or lack thereof. I literally flipped to that page and cringed before I even read it.

I’d almost like to see how Rathburn does inking this. He has done magic on Invincible in the past.
