What do you say to this issue? We have a great establishing fight with Peter using his friends and families memories to try take down Ock. It's interesting enough and a clever way to try get Peter to take down Ock. Unfortunately Ock does the same thing but with the Villains and this in turn starts to kill the memories of Peters friends. Now I understand people hate Slotts handling of Peter and I understand that it's inevitable that Peter shall return. It's comics, it happens. However there's only so long that you can watch on of your favourite character be tortured so personally. If it happened to Wolverine, it wouldn't matter so much as Wolverine has done some pretty vile things. It would also make a pretty good story there. In fact it did! - see Wolverine goes to hell. However with Peter Parker it feels so wrong that its almost like he's being raped (not by a bad story but the fact that someone else is inside him and controlling him into things they have no right to do) It makes for an interesting story and I enjoyed the fact that Peter was lurking in the background but doing what happens next is a bit too far for me personally. Ock gets the upper hand, Peter starts forgetting who he is to the point that he's almost unintelligent and everything collapses on him. As I said before there's only so much you can see of a character getting the short draw before you don't want to read it anymore. It's almost like overkill with the bad things that happen. Ock is already in Pete's body. Pete was being forced to see someone run his life. That was enough. By killing Peter again it's too much and I personally don't want to read that happening to a character I love. I'm not a hater. I bought and read the previous issues and was interested and enjoyed the story up until now but....ahhh well. How and when Pete comes back will be interesting but I would rather not read this until he does come back, so I'm voting with my cash and jumping off here. It's nots badly written the art is nice enough, just not my cup of tea.
