I surprised myself with this pick. I was expecting it to be Saga, which don’t get me wrong, it was brilliant in every way, and totally a five star book, but despite the pressure I had to choose this book.
This was basically a fight issue, but it was not only one of the greatest fights I have seen in comics, but it’s definitely the most violent. There is some shocking things in this issue, more so than in the last one. What is great about it is how much Justin Jordan and Tradd Moore have gotten me to care about these characters, and they have no qualms about ripping me heart out. The fight is escalated so much because I truly cared about what was happening, and no matter how crazy things got, it felt deserved, and it fit within the series.
Tradd Moore is one hell of an artist, proved by this tour de force of violence and energy he brings here. It doesn’t hurt that he is influenced by my favorite artist, Ryan Ottley, but his style is still very much his own. His emotions and fast paced action here are far above what an artist as new as he is. Truly breathtaking work.
This was a fantastic crescendo to a fantastic miniseries, and I can’t wait for it’s sequel. Great job all around.

Also, I think this is the first time I have seen a comic use an “after the credits” sequence. Pretty cool.
