I hadn’t picked up The Flash for a few months. I believe the last issue I read was like #6 or something. While I loved the artwork from Manapul and Buccellato, the story wasn’t working for me and The Flash parted ways.

Figured I would get my Scarlett Speedster fix from the Justice League comic, but so far The Flash has had like 3 lines of dialog in that book, so I gave his main book another look-see.

What. The. Fuck. Happened?

Berry Allen is now pretending to be dead and gets a job at a Rogues bar somewhere on the outskirts of Central City where Captain Cold goes to spit some game.

I guess he wanted to go where everybody knows his name. “BA DUM DUMP!” (sorry, couldn’t resist)

Anyway, this is bottom of the barrel story telling here. And to make matters worse, the art by Marcus To is a complete departure from what we were getting in those first few issues of this series. Remember when The Flash was featured regularly in iFanboys “Panels of the Week”? Yeah, I doubt that’s gonna happen anytime soon with art like this.

Really disappointed this title went so far downhill. Maybe I’ll try it out again around issue #21.
